Assistant Project Manager

This position will oversee large residential and medium commercial projects, and will work under the
Project Manager on Zoo/Public Aquarium projects.  Duties to include scheduling, project estimating,
subcontractor coordination, submittals, RFI's and material ordering.  Up to 50% travel is required.

The successful candidate for this position will have the following qualifications and experience:
  • BS degree in a related science, business or engineering field
  • 2-3 years project management experience in a construction,  engineering or architectural field
  • Proficiencies in MS Office, MS Project and AutoCAD
  • Stong written and verbal skills.
  • Strong management skills.
The following qualifications will be viewed favorably:
  • PMP certification
  • PADI, NAUI or similar SCUBA certification
  • Previous experience designing or installing large aquatic displays.

Due to a rapid increase in growth in Middlesex County, Atlantic County and
Philadelphia, NJAS is seeking 3
Aquarium Specialists to service these areas.

Aquarium Specialists (3 positions)

Aquarium Specialists are responsible for routine aquarium management of commercial and residential
aquariums in their assigned service region.  Duties include, but are not limited to: client satisfaction
assurance, routine system maintenance, system troubleshooting and repair, livestock additions,
health assessments and installation services as required.  

The successful candidates for these positions will have the following qualifications and experience:
  • BS in a related biological sciences or natural resources field.
  • Extensive aquarium knowledge either through work at  public aquaria, retail fish shops or
    service companies, or through advanced hobbyist experience.
  • Strong problem solving skills, demonstrated success working independently and in a team,
    and proven customer service abilities.
  • PADI, NAUI or similar SCUBA certification, or ability to obtain certification within 6 months
    of hire
  • Ability to lift 50lbs independently and to stand or sit for prolonged periods in physically
    demanding positions.
  • At least two of the four following: customer service experience, carpentry experience,
    plumbing experience or electrical knowledge.
  • Clean driving record.
